Facebook with Jobs?
In Chapter 2 section 2, students and employers speak of how Facebook is used to see of the potential employees a company may hire. In my personal opinion, I do believe a company should be allowed to search your Facebook and do some research on you before they hire you. Why you may ask? I say this because, if you are someone that put yourself through college whether it's for 2 years, 4 years, 8 years or how ever many years you attended; you should have some knowledge that companies hire the best possible people. They don't want to hire someone that acts one way but is another way. Me personally, I have nothing to hide on Facebook. Even if I have had a drink in Canada at a hockey game or done something stupid doesn't mean I go posting it on Facebook? The argument is to share these experiences with your friends. If you need a social media site to share what you have done with others just so they know you have done it, then you're doing it wrong in my opinion. I do however believe that companies should only be able to retain so much information on a users profile. They should not be able to see if they are married, have children, their sexual orientation and any other personal facts a business or company cannot legally hire or not hire you for. In the end, just be careful what you post on social media, you never know when it can affect you later in life.

Everyone knows that you should be careful what you post. I agree that companies should not look at real personal information that they can be bias on. At the same time though you control what you post and should not post it if you do not want it to be seen by companies. Like he said they are going to hire the best possible person for the position and if it comes down to facebook they are gonna take the smarter user. Have fun all you want and share with your friends just keep it offline and you will be fine.
